the door hits the wall with a loud thud, probably because jinx kicks it, looming over hunter. ]

Well, if it isn't my favourite pointy fella!

[ she reaches to pull his ear. lovingly. ]

[ startles from the door slamming!!!! but he allows it, but looks grumpy about it ]

Are you ever going to use my name, or should I just give up?

[ flapjack chirps a little hello at jinx, settled on hunter's head now. ]

Don't be silly. Your name's Pointy!

[ she drags him in. her room is a veritable mess of graffiti and mechanical things scattered all over the place, but for the most part it's maintained. except the drapes. those look a little rough. ]

Never going to use it. Got it.

[ at least he'll stop insisting (???) ]

[ he lets himself get dragged, but looks curiously around all the mechanical things scattered. his expression lightens up a little in curiosity ]

So this is what you've been working on?

[ jinx plucks a little camera-firefly bot. its little wings buzz as she lifts it up for hunter to see. ]

Lil' of this, lil' of that. I was thinking of getting a garage or chop shop. People could bring me stuff, I could fix it, and voila! Cash flow.

And I'd fund my projects.

[newphew]

Not a bad idea. I'm sure you'd have plenty of business.

[ he peers at it, fascinated ]

So this is a "camera" "robot"?

[ she leans into his space, curious. ]

Was there someone you wanna know more about? Get their secrets?

[ normally he would lean back, but it's jinx so he allows it. though he kind of wants to tug her hair. he sticks his tongue out a little instead ]

Not really. I'm not interested in people's secrets.

[ because he has his own he wants to hide.... ]

But I suppose it would be good to spy on the criminal element I deal with.

[ a noticeable pause. her eyes are fixed on hunter, thoughtful. ]

Yeah. I've worked with Silco on it before.

[ granted, they have vastly different reasons for doing what they do ]

What did Silco have you do.

[ her tone is very flat, soft. ]

[ there has been perhaps a bit of a misunderstanding, but hunter doesn't seem to have noticed ]

[ jinx huffs, relaxing. nothing big then. she pinches his ear as retaliation for making her worry. ]

What was that for!

[ hunter did nothing wrong!! in hunter's opinion ]

Of course not. I called him "father".... you know, like a normal person would do.

Sure. That's totally normal and not stiff at all.

Too formal. Kind of weird!

Pretty sure I said that already.

No, I mean, why wouldn't you want to be formal with your parent?

[ spoken as someone who never had parents ]

[ jinx blinks. ]

Pointy, have you never have your own folks?

[ hm. she figured early on, but confirmation is good. she ruffles his hair. ]

Nothing weird about it. Lots of Zaun folk don't have 'em. Ekko — [ mylo. clagger. but those words were. harder to get out. stuck in the maw.

she pivots instead. ] — Vi and me, as well. We lost ours pretty young. It happens.

[ he's had his hair ruffled a few times now, so he doesn't flinch, just looks at her ]

[ part of him wants to tell her the truth, that he was made, not born, but he can't bring himself to ]

Sounds like life in Zaun was pretty rough.

Rough doesn't cover it! Ohh, the stories I could tell you. It'd make you grow a couple of inches taller, Pointy!

So don't sweat the small stuff. In this place, everyone's a leeetle off.

I'd listen to any of your stories. You know that, right?

[ a small moment of sincerity from him, though he still makes a face at the word "pointy" ]

[ jinx merely makes a little sound at the back of her throat, but the gleam in her eyes, an eerie red, signifies that she heard him loud and clear. ]
